Big Cat Rescue is a non-profit educational sanctuary devoted to rescuing and providing a permanent home for exotic cats who have been abused, abandoned, or saved from being slaughtered for fur coats.

The sanctuary houses the most diverse population of exotic cats in the world, including tigers, lions, leopards, cougars, bobcats, lynx, ocelots, and others, many of whom are threatened, endangered, or now extinct in the wild.

The sanctuary was founded in 1992 by Carole Baskin, who has created a world where animals are treated with respect. Big Cat Rescue's mission is to provide the best possible home for the animals in its care, and to stop the flow of animals needing sanctuary by educating the public about the plight of the animals and soliciting support for stronger laws to protect them.

Because the sanctuary (a 501(c)(3) not-profit charity) does not receive government funding, it relies on revenue from educational activities, such as tours, and the generosity of donors for support. Donations are tax deductible. 100% of donations go directly to support the cats.
